Got Questions? : Heaven

Have you ever wondered what Heaven is like? Today, in the first week of our new series, “Got Questions?”, we tackled a big one as we walked through three important truths about Heaven.

What does the Bible tell us about Heaven? What should thinking about Heaven stir in our hearts? Here, we'll dive deep into Scripture to uncover key truths about our eternal home and what it means for our lives here now.

First, Heaven motivated the early believers, and it should motivate us! From the early church to now, the hope of Heaven has been a driving force for believers. The Apostle Paul said it best in Philippians 1:21, “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” That heart posture changes everything. It gives us joy, perseverance, and purpose. Knowing that Heaven is real allows us to live freely, unhindered by the fear of death or suffering.

Secondly,  Heaven delivers us from the fear of death that the rest of humanity is enslaved to.  As Christians, we are free. Hebrews 2:14-15 reminds us that Christ destroyed death’s power, releasing us from its grip. Knowing Heaven awaits should shift our focus, allowing us to see beyond earthly struggles and anxieties. Even in life’s darkest moments, Heaven provides hope, knowing the morning will come — a beautiful eternity with our Savior.

Finally, Heaven is a real place, and it is glorious! Heaven is not just a dream or an abstract concept; it is a real, tangible place. Jesus spoke of it in John 14, promising that He has prepared a place for us. Revelation 21 paints a stunning picture of the new Heaven and new Earth where God will dwell with us, wiping away every tear. There will be no more death, mourning, or pain. It’s a place of eternal joy, peace, and communion with God — everything our hearts long for.

“Life on earth is but a journey to the joy of Heaven.”
