Nothing Can Separate Us

“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39

In the final week of our series in Romans 8, the Apostle Paul declares his unwavering confidence in God’s love and provision for us: "For I am sure..." This certainty isn't born of mere optimism but of a profound understanding of God's love, a love so steadfast that nothing in existence can break or remove it. Paul’s conviction serves as a beacon for us, and he urges us to grasp this promise's depth and life-changing power.

Paul leaves no room for doubt. Death, life, angels, rulers, powers, circumstances, not even ourselves—nothing holds any power over our eternal life –secured through Christ, born out of our Father’s love. Similarly, the challenges and trials we face in this life, which may make us feel distant from God, don’t affect His love for us. Whether it’s our shame, persistent sin, or even our misconceptions about love, His love remains.

Does the enemy try to remind you of your past to make you doubt His love? We shouldn’t waste time or energy playing the “ya, but…” game. “Ya, but you don’t know what I’ve done...” “Ya, but you don’t understand where I’ve come from…”
“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1). Nothing can separate us from His love –NOTHING!

Even supernatural powers are powerless against the love of God. While we acknowledge the reality of spiritual warfare, we know that the power of the cross has already disarmed the enemy and neutralized his greatest weapon. No present struggles or future uncertainties can alter God's love, and no circumstance—high or low—can diminish it.

How sure are you of God’s love for you? Watch this week’s sermon to see how we stand firm and respond to His unwavering, unbreakable love –allowing it to transform our lives and faith. Follow along with the Sermon Notes here. Check out the entire 12-week Romans 8 series.
