Elon Chats With Donald, UK Jails For Tweets, Olympics Goes Cultic Again

Here are some news stories you need to know. 

1 - Elon Chats With Donald

Donald Trump and Elon Musk engaged in a two-hour long conversation on X Spaces last night which has currently been viewed by 140m people, and that number is rising. There are perhaps too many newsworthy moments to mention, but some include:

• European Commissioner Thierry Breton sent a threatening letter to Musk in advance of the conversation in what amounts to nothing less than foreign election interference. Breton, who pays his taxes through Senegal where there is less than 5% income tax, received a scorched earth reply from Musk, who sent him an expletive-charged meme in reply. Musk’s response garnered 423k likes to the meager 16k Breton’s letter received.
• The stream started later due to a massive cyber attack, according to Musk. Earlier that day the site had been tested for 8 million concurrent listeners, but was only able to run with a smaller number of listeners after a thirty minute delay.
• The conversation brought up many of Trump’s key talking points, including his praise of those who acted courageously when he was nearly assassinated last month, avoiding nuclear war, inflation and mass immigration. 
• Trump alluded to a conversation with Vladimir Putin in which he threatened the Russian President if he dared to invade Ukraine
• Trump promised the largest deportation in history if re-elected, and claimed that there may be as many as 20 million illegal immigrants who have crossed into America under the Biden administration
• He blamed the weakness of Joe Biden for much of the global conflict issues in our day, noting that Russia and Iran became much more serious threats after 2020
• Most mainstream media called what likely seemed to the average listener as a perfectly normal conversation with a fluid-if-bombastic Trump as some sort of disaster.

Meanwhile, Kamala Harris has yet to do a single interview since becoming the Democratic Presidential nominee, and Joe Biden has been off the radar for weeks. Musk however did invite her to have a similar conversation on X Spaces.

2 - UK Hands Out Long Sentences for Social Media Posts 

The UK has begun a stringent crackdown on anyone perceived to have been involved in the days of rioting in early August, handing out long sentences for social media posts, among other more serious offenses. 

One man was jailed for 26 months for “gesticulating and shouting at [police officers]”, a 55-year-old women was arrested for posting ‘incorrect information’ on social media, and another man was jailed for eight weeks for sharing ‘offensive’ social media posts. A 12-year-old boy was also arrested for taking part in the riots, and the UK government has threatened criminal prosecution for retweeting. 

Meanwhile, two Muslim men who attacked police officers at Manchester airport, leaving a female officer with a broken nose and others with various injuries, have yet to be charged. Others who escaped jail time in the country include Hussein Alinzi, who battered his schoolgirl daughter with a metal bar for wearing make-up, and Mirza Mohammad Saeed who sexually assaulted seven women also avoided jail time.

As the police ‘scour’ the internet for tweets they dont’ like, a man named Ioan Pintaru has been charged for yesterday’s stabbing of an 11-year-old girl in Leicester Square. Thankfully a security guard at TWG tea in Leicester Square named Abdullah intervened to stop the man, to universal acclaim.

3 - Olympics Closing Ceremony Is… Unusual

The Olympics closing ceremony, whilst not garnering the same level of opprobrium as its blasphemous opening ceremony, was nonetheless a strange and unsettling affair. Haunting, dark music, marked by hypnotic drumming, was accompanied by a faceless man dressed in what can best be described as a golden version of a tribal costume and mask, as more faceless, white-clad dancers and acrobats flipped and spun behind him, often bowing and beating the ground in unison with the drums as smoke filled the arena. At the close of the performance the white-clad minions circled around the man in gold, forming a human pyramid on which the strange figure was lifted high as the rest bowed in apparent reverence. 

Just what this had to do with France or the Olympics is anyone’s guess, but such an event would not have felt out of place at a satanic ritual or the worship ceremony of a cult. 

Speaking of which, scientologist Tom Cruise made an appearance, jumping from the roof in his typical stuntman fashion.
