Punching Back At Equity
The sight of Olympic boxer Angela Carini dropping to her knees in the ring with tears flowing down her face has once again ignited the conversation about the physical injustice done in women’s sports when biological men are permitted to compete among their ranks.
Carini lasted about 46 seconds in her match against Algerian boxer Imane Khelif. The strength of the blows was too much for her, Khelif’s punches even dislodging her headgear before the end. After an abrupt surrender during the bout, Carini said, "I am heartbroken…I stepped into the ring to honor my father. I’ve always been called a warrior, but I had to prioritize my health. I’ve never been hit this hard before."
It’s not shocking that Carini felt stronger blows than she’d be accustomed to in her chosen sport because, after all, she was being hit by a set of XY chromosomes surging with testosterone.
Khelif has been surrounded by controversy in that the boxer claims to be a woman, yet was recently disqualified at the 2023 IBA Women’s World Boxing Championship. Khelif’s home country of Algeria stated that this was due to “medical reasons,” but the reality is that Khelif has extraordinarily high levels of testosterone and the IBA President Umar Kremlev also announced that the test “proved they had XY chromosomes.” Despite the IBA revelation, IOC rules still permitted Khelif to participate in the women’s division at the Olympics.
To me, the poignant viral photo of Carini after the fight captures exactly what our Western culture is doing to women in the name of "equality." Rather than elevating the glory of women, we are punching them to their knees. Confusion abounds where clarity is readily available, and too many of us are choosing to cower behind the sentiment that authors like Harjeet Khanduja would have us believe when he asserts: “Equity gives a sense of respect.”
Yet true respect is impossible without honesty. The reality is that God not only made men and women, but He made them distinct from one another. Distinction doesn't mean one is more or less valuable than the other, but does mean that the greatest enjoyment of our value can only come by embracing the divinely designed distinctions we have been given.
When we are unwilling to even acknowledge what a woman is we are going to inevitably destroy what we claim to be celebrating. The West cannot continue to pull the roots of trees up and wonder why the land is barren.
The underlying ideological pursuit of "equity" in society is a cancer and must be cut out before it spreads even further. The treatment must be the truth spoken clearly in love for the good of our neighbors before they are harmed any further by the dangerous lies that invade our minds at every turn.
Women, you must stand up against this perversion. Wake up and realize that you are being imprisoned, not celebrated, by this wicked ideology. My recommendation is to refuse to compete in any event at any level that would have a woman engage in physical competition against a man. Women tolerating this injustice only exacerbates the problem, and refusal to participate is one of the quickest paths to restoring some sanity to sports where this is happening.
Men, whether you’re coaching, training, or otherwise supporting a woman engaged in professional sports, do not enable this kind of dangerous derangement. Stand up for the women in your life and protect them from unnecessary harm and perversion.
The entire issue would disappear overnight if instead of staying trapped in this ideological prison that a tiny minority of twisted minds have built, we realized that the bars are imaginary and that freedom awaits those brave enough to simply walk out.
