What's Really Going on with the Olympic Opening Ceremony Controversy?

The opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics ended with the ‘queer’/’trans’ artists depicting a mock reenactment of Da Vinci's ‘The Last Supper’ painting.

In this parody, the Christ figure was an obese woman making a heart symbol with her hands surrounded by a rainbow coalition of drag queens, bearded ladies, and other perversions.

This was no fluke.

This should not be dismissed at artistic expression gone too far, but as open contempt for Christ and Christianity. They weren't mocking Mohammed or Buddha, because those are false religions. No, this level of contempt is reserved only for the Lord Jesus Christ.

This fact alone is a major clue as to their agenda. The opening ceremony was a thinly disguised pagan religious ceremony devoted to a demonic pantheon of LGBTQ gods.

Christians weren’t the only ones troubled by the performance. Many Jews, Muslims, and secularists expressed their dismay online at such a gross perversion (pun intended) of the Christian faith.

The Unexpected Backlash

Evidently, the French didn’t realize that mocking the faith of the world’s 2 billion professing Christians would cause a stir. And so, amidst the growing backlash (not to mention sponsorships pulling their advertising dollars), they went into damage control mode.

Interestingly, even though online commentators tried to advance the idea that Davinci’s “The Last Supper” painting was not being spoofed by the performance, the International Olympic Committee (not to mention France’s own public broadcasting TV network) clearly acknowledged that it was and issued a “sorry, not sorry” apology.

They said, their “intention with the Opening Ceremony was always to celebrate community and tolerance.”

The @Olympic X account said, “The interpretation of the Greek God Dionysus makes us aware of the absurdity of violence between human beings.” The author of that sentence has unlocked ninja-level gaslighting.

The International Olympic Committee has since removed the video of the Opening Ceremony from YouTube.

The people who claim this was something other than a mocking depiction of Christ and the Last Supper would have us believe something other than what we all saw with our own eyes.

They are saying this was actually a depiction of Roman god Bacchus, son of Jupiter, god of wine and revelry.

As Josh Robinson has pointed out, it’s both. He writes, “This confusion stems from asking ‘What is it made of?’ instead of ‘What does it mean?’ As a result, some viewers are puzzled, thinking, “That guy looks like Dionysus with the fruit, but the arrangement also resembles Lady Liberty in a DaVinci painting. It has to be one or the other.

The combination of symbols advances an ideological agenda. Robinson says “The DaVinci-style imagery with Lady Liberty in drag signifies France’s rejection of Christianity and its embrace of secularism, transforming into a nation of tolerance, liberty, and freedom.

That’s the real point. The performance was a deliberate subversion of Christian imagery by colonizing an iconic painting and reinterpreting its symbolism as some kind of gay orgy dedicated to a pagan god.

Whatever they intended by references to Bacchus or Dionysius only makes the blasphemy worse.

Predictable Reactions

Of course, there’s always the “well ackshually” crowd showed up in full force with their predictably on-brand expression of moral vacuity laced with logical fallacy. Some examples.

I saw a few posts saying, “Davinci himself was a homosexual!” Not only is this a wild historical conjecture, but it’s also quite typical of those who are trying to make everything gay by subversively recasting classic stories and symbols in the Sodom’s image.

“Jesus wasn’t white!” That’s a red herring. The issue at hand is blasphemy, not ethnicity. The skin color of the depicted figures is irrelevant.

“What about all the other times Davinci’s Last Supper scene was depicted in Hollywood?” One doesn’t need a genius IQ to recognize the difference between tribute and subversion. But that’s beside the point. Precedent doesn’t make it right.

The Demonic Agenda

When I say "demonic," that's not just a hyperbolic way of saying "this is really evil." No, I mean real demons. Actual demonic powers venting their blasphemous hatred for the true God.

Sex is spiritual. It involves not only a physical act, but also an experience of transcendence. The LGBTQ+ ‘community’ has a cult-like power over people as it pulls them deeper and deeper into their transgressive lifestyle.

Sexual pleasure is one of the strongest human passions, because, deep down, we long for the divine. The thrill of sex is somewhat mystical, because God designed sex to reflect transcendent realities. The one-flesh union of husband and wife testifies to Christ’s own commitment to his bride, the church.

Speaking of the marriage relationship, Paul says, “this mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church” (Eph 5:32). As one novelist famously said, “the young man who rings the bell at the brothel is unconsciously looking for God.”*

In Scripture, there is a pervasive connection between pagan spirituality and sexual immorality. God warned Israel against participating in the cult practices of the Canaanites, which included cult prostitution (Deut 23:17) and child sacrifice (Lev 18:21).

Sex is not merely a physical act. The connection between sexual pleasure and pagan worship is demonstrated repeatedly in the Old Testament.

Paganism has always sought to bend, blend, twist, invert, and destroy sexuality. Gender-bending androgyny has always been a hallmark of paganism. New Agers have long taught androgyny as the sexual ideal, where individuals are neither male nor female but exist on a gender spectrum.

The pagan agenda is the elimination of the male/female binary, which is a direct assault on the image of God as described in Gen 1:27 ("male and female he created them").

Biblical scholar Peter Jones said, "sexual perversion and the elimination of sexual distinctions are not incidental footnotes of pagan religious history but represent one of paganism’s fundamental ideological commitments."

He goes on to say, "the pagan priesthood is identified, across space and time, with the blurring of sexual identity via homosexual androgyny."

In other words, sexual immorality is spiritual, because human beings are spiritual. The opening ceremony was more than just a display of sexual perversion, but a religious cult ritual.

Satan's design is to twist and invert reality. It is very important that we see what's happening. The LGBTQ movement is a Satanic religious cult setting itself up as a rival to Christianity.

Don't fall for it.
