ERLC Unfires Leatherwood, Biden Seen In Public, Cheatle Resigns, Trans Surgery Ban
1 - ERLC Unfires Leatherwood, Fires Someone Else
On Monday the ERLC stated on social media that it had fired its President Brent Leatherwood, which seemed to many outsiders to be a result of the organization’s overt leftwing political bias. This was widely condemned by liberal ‘Big Eva’ types, with Russell Moore saying, “Sometimes the Venn diagram of evil and stupid is a perfect circle.”
Somehow, 24 hours later, Leatherwood had been reinstated, with the organization claiming that, “Then-board chair Kevin Smith acted without the approval of the executive committee of the trustees. There was no vote taken. His decision to unilaterally act was outside of his authority as board chair. As such, the termination was illegitimate, and thus there was not, as has been reported, a ‘reinstatement’ of Brent Leatherwood as president. He was never terminated.”
This turn of events is startling. With it taking a full day to retract an apparently ‘unilateral’ firing, and many internal reports claiming that in fact the firing did have backing but the paperwork was not finalized, seems to imply that the organization absolutely planned to fire Leatherwood but changed its mind due to the subsequent leftwing backlash.
Board chairman Kevin Smith has since resigned.
This is a complete embarrassment for the SBC. @erlc trustees need to come clean with the churches that own the entity. It’s time for transparency—which churches have been requesting for years. pic.twitter.com/dmSbW8gMtq

2 - Biden Seen In Public For First Time Since Stepping Aside
President Joe Biden was seen in public for the first time in nearly a week, dispelling (most) rumors that the President was perhaps hospitalized or perhaps had even passed away. He was seen exiting a car and climbing the steps into Air Force One on Tuesday afternoon.
The President did not speak to media or take questions, and the possibility of a reported (though currently unsubstantiated) medical emergency, alongside the strange way in which his decision to step aside from the race for President was handled and his lack of visibility since, is likely to leave many questions as to what happened last week.

The development comes after bogus reports shared online claimed Biden was in “hospice care” and was unexpected to make it through the night.

3 - Head Of Secret Service Resigns
Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle stepped down yesterday after members from both political parties called for her to resign following her agency’s inability to stop the attempted assassination of Donald Trump.
Cheatle had planned to stay in the role, describing herself as the best person for the role on Monday, but a tough hearing on Monday in which both Democrats and Republicans blasted her performance and called for her resignation was enough to make her position untenable.
“She should have done this at least a week ago. I’m happy to see that,” Speaker Mike Johnson said upon hearing the news.

4 - New Hampshire Bans Trans Surgery On Minors
New Hampshire is the latest state to ban what the Christian Post described as, “body-mutilating sex-change surgeries” on anyone under the age of 18. Furthermore the state also banned boys and men from participating in girls’ or women’s sports.
This means that more than half of the states across the U.S. have passed similar laws regarding either ‘trans surgery’ or male participation in female sporting events.
According to the Christian Post, “For the most part, support for the legislation came down along party lines, with nearly all Republicans voting in favor of it and almost all Democrats opposing it. No member of the New Hampshire Senate broke from their party, while 14 Democrats in the New Hampshire House supported the measure and three Republicans opposed it.”
