Elon A 'Cultural Christian', Head Of ERLC Fired, Kamala Confirmed, Biden Emergency?
1 - Elon Declares Himself Cultural Christian
Elon Musk spoke about Christianity in extremely positive terms, describing himself as a ‘cultural Christian’. In a conversation with Jordan Peterson, Musk said, “While I'm not a particularly religious person, I do believe that the teachings of Jesus are good and wise… I would say I'm probably a cultural Christian,”
He went on to say that Christian beliefs, “result in the greatest happiness for humanity, considering not just the present, but all future humans.”
Musk also noted that a loss of religion leads to low birth rates, something, saying, “When a culture loses its religion, it starts to become antinatalist and decline in numbers and potentially disappear.”

Fellow believers, the "cultural Christians" are the low-hanging fruit for evangelism in our nation. May we labor to reach them. May millions soon truly find themselves in Christ.pic.twitter.com/Uo6VgF4wfb
Musk joins many other well known figures who have expressed appreciation for Christianity in recent months, ranging from notable converts to the faith such as Russell Brand and Ayaan Hrsi Ali, to Richard Dawkins who does not hold to the faith but similarly described himself as a cultural Christian.
For believers who have concerns as to whether or not cultural Christianity is in fact a good thing, here’s a helpful video.
2 - Head of ERLC Out
Yesterday we posted an article by Megan Basham looking at the leftwing politicization of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) in recent years, something that was recently highlighted once again by the organization’s glowing response to Biden’s apparently ‘selfless’ act of stepping out of the running for President. Later that day, ERLC President Brent Leatherwood was fired.
We were by no means the only organization to criticize Leatherwood for his pro-Democratic party bias and many liberal stances, with Tom Ascol of Founders Ministries notably calling for the abolition of the entire organization in this year’s SBC Annual Meeting, so deep had the rot set. (Please note that the ERLC is run by the Southern Baptist Convention.)
We also reported yesterday that SBC President Clint Pressley had publicly disagreed with the ERLC’s response, though he did so without naming the organization specifically, and many SBC members will be hopeful that this is a sign of a strong, conservative direction.
Brent Leatherwood has been removed as head of the ERLC. From his backing of gun control measures in the SBC’s name to his using ERLC resources to help suppress the trans shooter’s manifesto in Nashville to his recent statements on Joe Biden’s withdrawal, this was the right call. pic.twitter.com/HXXie7dWjN

3 - Kamala Wins Democratic Nomination
Vice President Kamala Harris has received sufficient support to become the Democrat Party’s nominee for President.
A survey by the Associated Press on Monday evening showed that she had received the endorsement of over 1,976 delegates, the amount needed to win the nomination.
In terms of polling, Harris performs about as well as current President Joe Biden against Trump, who is now widely considered to be a favorite to win the Presidency in November. However it is possible that things change now that people begin to seriously consider her as a Presidential candidate. Whether they will be more or less likely to vote for her remains to be seen.
What a great opening campaign speech by Kamala Harris.

She is really great at speaking. Definitely the best speaking candidate since Barack Obama.
I can’t wait until she debates Trump. pic.twitter.com/GdFPCqTN6b
4 - BIden Medical Emergency?
There are some strange things regarding President Biden’s decision to step aside from the race for re-election, including the fact that the letter was not on official headed paper, that his signature appeared to be slightly different from usual, and that such a decision was merely delivered by a post on X (an account we know others have access to due to the multiple tweets posted there whilst he was on stage debating Donald Trump) and was not followed up by a press-conference or any public appearance.
This has led to widespread reports that Biden suffered an undisclosed medical emergency during his visit to Las Vegas last week, including apparent reports from local law enforcement.
While the White House has not addressed the speculation, multiple events were canceled and the President has not been seen in public since that time.
Fact checking organizations are calling the claims unfounded, but the speculation itself is newsworthy.
My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best… pic.twitter.com/x8DnvuImJV
