Got Questions?: Hell

Have you ever wondered about Hell? Is it real? If it’s real, how could a loving God send people there? Who ends up there –just the worst people …right? Is it eternal, like Heaven?

In Week 2 of our “Got Questions?” series, we tackle one of the Bible’s toughest topics: Hell. Many prefer to avoid the subject, but what if facing it honestly could deepen our understanding of God’s justice and His powerful love? This week’s message dives into three key truths Scripture reveals about Hell and why they matter for us all.

While it’s often tempting to ignore or downplay, we see throughout the Bible that Jesus approached the reality of Hell directly, not to instill fear, but to open our eyes to the significance of His offer of salvation. Why does Hell exist? Why does Scripture teach that it’s eternal? And how should this shape the way we live today? These questions aren’t just theological points—they impact our understanding of God’s character, the power of the cross, and the meaning of our lives.

God’s judgment is real, His justice is pure, and His grace is a profound gift. How should we respond? And how does understanding the realities of Hell change the way we live and share our faith with others? This sermon addresses these questions with a compassionate and honest look at what the Bible teaches.

Spurgeon challenged, “If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them to stay. If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for.” Watch the video and understand why this often-overlooked doctrine is essential to the Gospel message.

You can follow along with this week’s sermon notes here. We invite you to come back each week to journey with us as we continue our “Got Questions?” discussion on Angels, Demons, and the 2nd Coming over the next three weeks. You can check out or catch up on the entire series here.
