I grew up in an Indian-dominated area of London, and it's true that there are very different attitudes towards litter (and the environment in general) between many Indians and Westerners. This article is so helpful in pointing out that there are religious roots beneath this clash of cultures. My (white British) parents used to stop and shout at people freely emptying bags of trash onto the streets. But there is something deeper that needs dealing with - they need to know Christ.
