Here are a few things you need to know from yesterday.

1 - Tucker On End Times Theology

Tucker Carlson recently interviewed music artist John Rich, writer and singer of the song ‘Revelation’ which centers on said book of the Bible. In a viral clip from their discussion, Tucker and John talk about the history of the theological framework known as Dispensationalism, perhaps the majority opinion among US Christians today regarding end times, and why they believe there are some big issues with it.

2 - Elon Musk Leaves California Over Trans Legislation
California governor Gavin Newsom signed Bill AB1955, banning schools from making rules requiring parents to be notified if a child identifies as transgender. So basically, a school can start transing your kids and not tell you about it. If you live in California. Which you probably shouldn’t. In response, Elon Musk announced that he is moving his SpaceX HQ from California to Texas. Perhaps other Christian businesses, and believers in general, should do something similar.

3 - The RNC Needs Serious Work
The Republican National Convention is still ongoing in Milwaukee, and though the failed assassination attempt means that President Trump looks set to win the upcoming election, issues abound. With X-rated content creator Amber Rose and a Sikh prayer (for some reason reverently observed by the many Christians in attendance) both given stage time, alongside the recent removal of pro-life language from the party platform, it’s clear that cringe attempts to reach more broadly have in many ways supplanted Christian values in the GOP. Whilst the Republican Party seems unified around an agenda to restore some common sense to the American government, Christians in the party though must hold fast to the convictions that they have always professed: a government that protects life and the sanctity of marriage. Day 2 of the Convention was less controversial, but believers have work to do in moving the party back to a conservative Christian worldview.

4 - Cancel Culture On The Right?
Twitter account Libs Of TikTok has been on a rampage over the last few days, tracking down dozens of people who voiced disappointment that the wannabe Trump assassin didn’t actually succeed, exposing their remarks (and places of employment) on social media. Many have been fired as a result. Every culture will have things it considers to be beyond the pale of acceptable discourse, punished by social ostracism, and voicing support for the murder of your political opponents is certainly something that should fit that category. Nonetheless, Christians will need to think carefully about the best way to respond to things like this, and if such ire expressed through social media is the right way to do so.
